The Worksmart Experience Includes:

Five targeted learning modules facilitated by a Practitioner, in about an hour each, that provide action plans managers can apply immediately with their teams.

Module 1: Giving Constructive Feedback

Managers learn how to get more comfortable and adept at delivering constructive feedback. Participants briefly explore what makes feedback challenging and what makes it effective. They are then introduced to the four elements of feedback and read personalized insights about the feedback superpower associated with their DiSC® style, which they discuss in small groups. The full group then explores the importance of all four feedback elements, and participants once again read personalized insights about the elements that may come less naturally to them. In small groups, they share which element is hardest for them and consider its benefits. Finally, participants receive personalized insights about one team member and use those insights to complete an action plan for giving that person feedback.

Module 2: Managing Conflict

Managers learn how to better understand and manage conflict in the workplace. Participants learn about their own instincts in conflict based on their DiSC® style and discuss how those instincts have served them in small groups. They then explore how conflict might play out differently with different people depending on their DiSC style. Finally, participants receive personalized insights about someone they manage and use those insights to complete an action plan for tackling conflict with that person.

Module 3: Empowering Your Team

Managers learn how to empower their direct reports by providing the tools they need to feel confident and be effective. Participants learn what the tools of empowerment are and explore their own empowerment approach based on their DiSC® style. They have a chance to learn how other managers approach empowerment through small group discussions. They then learn how to tailor their approach based on a team member’s DiSC style and use a tool on Catalyst to create a custom plan for empowering someone they manage.

Module 4: Helping Your Team Navigate Change

Managers gain a deeper understanding of change and how to help their team navigate through it. Participants gain exposure to how different DiSC styles respond to change and their varying needs as they adjust to change.

They are introduced to the change curve, a model for how disruptive change tends to play out and the stages people go through while adjusting. Participants read about their own needs and tendencies during change and explore what those needs look like around the DiSC® circle. Finally, they use a tool on Catalyst to create a custom plan for helping someone they manage navigate disruptive change.

Module 5: Motivating Your Team

Available July 31.

Managers explore what’s motivating and demotivating for themselves and their team members, based on DiSC style. They also create action plans for fostering a motivating environment where people feel inspired and excited about their work.
