Conflict Can Power Your Team

Conflict (productive conflict, not personal conflict) is like the boiler that powers a steam locomotive. You can use the steam to power forward the locomotive (your team), or you can keep the steam bottled up. However, the longer you keep the steam bottled up, the higher the boiler pressure gets, and it becomes increasingly likely that you suddenly get an awful lot of noise but no motion. You can also damage the locomotive.

So, there’s no reason to be concerned about productive conflict – if it’s managed correctly. In fact, it’s something you want to have happen in order to power your team forward!
